What is the Planetary Boundaries Fresk?
The “Planetary Boundary Fresk” is a collaborative workshop based on the research of the Stockholm Resilience Center. It focuses on the nine bio-physical processes that ensure the viability of our planet.
The game was developed by 1er Degré – since its creation a year ago, over 4,000 people have already taken part!
Objective: To make complex ecological relationships tangible and motivate people to act through collective learning.
What can you expect in the workshop?

Creative & emotional integration:
Colors, emotions, reflection – in the end, the image is not only visible, but tangible. This creates motivation for real change…
Recognize the connections:
With the help of maps, you put the puzzle together and discover how climate change, biodiversity loss, freshwater scarcity, soil degradation, ocean acidification and much more are connected.
Take a holistic perspective:
Together you create a “fresco” that links the planetary processes visually and systemically.
Planetary boundaries are more than CO₂!
Climate change is just one of nine limits – and we are already dangerously close to the limit in many areas.
